In terms of scaling all your subjects except Advanced English & English Extension 1 are quite poor. However, don't feel upset. As long as you perform well, the scaling will hardly work against you. :)

Yes it does. Its scaling is similar to Business Studies or PD/H/PE.

Why should scaling be considered when you're thinking about dropping a subject? decide to drop a subject based on your performance (ranks and mark-wise) and also your enjoyability of the subject itself. Good luck

I chose physics based on scaling and pressure from parents, and I chose japanese on skills. Turns out I like Physics more than Japanese now :(

i think uve done the right thing in not picking subjects just because of scaling

-looks in mirror-

jks!!

but yeah, i would probably drop the one ur worst at in year 12, not the one u least enjoy because next year is going to be one hell of a year for all of us [on the proviso that we want a cool UAI... unless we are maestros/geniuses or something..], and at the end of the day i think we would all prefer a UAI of 99+ than enjoy like a few periods a week slightly more than u would in another subject. if that makes sense.

just concentrate and embrace ur strengths

scaling is The Dodge imho.

It says General Maths :).

If I were in your shoes, I'd drop society and culture, because I'd probably find business studies more interesting lol. And I'm pretty sure business studies also scales better than society, but I'm not sure. In the end of the year, compare your results of both subjects, think about which you've enjoyed between the two, which one will be most relevant heading into uni.

They're all relatively low scaling subjects, besides English 2/3U.

Depends what subject you feel more confident in, really. If your results are similar for business and society/culture, I'd say keep Business and drop society.

Also, SG1991: It's not rumour. Every single year's HSC is based on ranking.

Well, the bolding, underlining and use of an extended ellipsis should tell you that she wasn't being serious.
