Hi all,

👋 I am a graduate from a selective high school with experience tutoring students in Year 8, but I would love to branch out to include Year 11-12 as well. My rate is $40/hour. I tutor online.

➕ I have tutored Maths before, and got a 95 result in my Maths Standard HSC. Maths was my highest mark in the HSC and I owe it largely to tutoring services, from which I would like to spread the improvement (from originally 70 to 95).
➗I have experience tutoring students in maths, and have tutored maths since November 2024 (just after I finished my HSC, to two Year 8 students). I am unable to teach Advanced or Extension, but I promise you I can be a great Standard or 7-10 tutor with many topics.
✖My favourite Maths Standard topic is networks.

🏺 My current study areas at university (USyd) are Archaeology and History, and while I did not complete Ancient in the HSC, I have experience with archaeology being my major.
🏛 My mark in Modern was 88 (89 in the exam) and it was definitely my most passionate subject, as I hope to become a history teacher in the future. I am super excited about tutoring history, including Modern, Ancient and 7-10 as it is my most passionate subject in both highschool and uni.
🧨 My favourite topic in Modern is Power and Authority, though I like all the topics on the syllabus pretty equally.

📖 I completed English Advanced with a mark of 79 (80 in the exam) and love consuming textual material, whether that is books, plays or film. My greatest skill in English is creative writing/Mod C, as my skill in discursive writing was my strongest area in the HSC, and in my HSC Drama I wrote an imaginative script which was nominated for OnStage (27+/30 mark).
📚 I am also willing to tutor Standard and 7-10 English and will be taking several units in English at university in the future (including creative writing).
🎥 My favourite text in English Advanced is Good Night and Good Luck (Mod B), and my favourite module is Mod C.

🧑‍🏫 My unofficial fourth subject area of tutoring is time management and general homework assistance. I have experience helping a Year 8 student prepare for her exams, and I am willing to help with drafting and setting out time for a major project, or even just assignments. I did 2 major projects during my HSC, so I know what procrastination feels like, but the only way you can overcome it is to plan ahead!

My tutoring style:
✍ I like to make google slides and be over prepared for every lesson we have. This is one of my favourite things to do as a budding teacher.
📝 I like past papers, and will often use them to prepare lessons. In the week before a test, I will have you sit a practice exam, either one I found online or if I can’t find one, one I have made myself based on the syllabus.
💻 I believe assignments should not be done last minute, and therefore, depending on the marks allocated, I suggest we spend at least 3 weeks in advance on your assignment.
🎬 For major projects, I believe in slowly working alongside a time management sheet to check off your goals each week. Major projects should be done over the course of the year, not last minute. I did 2 major projects (sort of 3 as Drama has both a group and individual project), and time management was key to successfully being nominated for OnStage.
🗣 Never be afraid to ask for feedback! I am always here to help.
