Need assistance with what this means (Parametrix) (1 Viewer)

Use the four standard forms to find the equation of the parabola with vertex at the origin and with the follow properties:
a) axis vertical, passing through (4,1)
b) axis horizontal, passing through (2,-2)

I don't understand what it means by axis vertical/horizontal, if anybody can clarify this for me would be great!

axis = axis of symmetry which then dictates the orientation of the parabola (either left-right or up-down)
