Need help with trig graphing thanks? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone. For trig i got this question:
y=cosx-sinx graph this equation.
I know of one way to graph it thanks to pluvia. But how do we graph it using the auxiliary method in other words how do we graph y=sqrt{2}cos(x-pi/4)

you should have y=root2(cosx+pi/4) first you sketch y=root2cosx then you shift it pi/4 units to left

There is another so many alternative ways to sketch that function without usin auxillary method. You also could sketch y=sinx+cosx then you would easily sketch the graph of derivative of this which is what you want dy/dx=cosx-sinx
