I've been given these questions to answer so if anyone knows the answer or can at least explain it a little more, that would be a great help.

Explain the process of determining the requirements for a new system (as in information technology project, e.g. website).

Identify and describe TWO transmission error-checking methods that could be used to help check for errors in communication links. Explain how they work.

Describe and explain how email; web-based file storage, retrieval and document sharing; Internet discussion and chat facilities; and teleconferencing (audio and video) can be used to support the work of a project team.

Discuss the function of a gateway in a website.

a) this you can check by going into chapter 1 of your text book which should be about project work. if project work isnt the first chapter, go look it up in your text book. it should be there somewhere.

b) two transmission error-checking methods could include Check sum, Cyclic redundancy Check and parity check. pick the two that you're more familiar with, i'm not going to go into details about all three since you can find that info in your textbook.

c) This is also in chapter one about project management. This is a pretty easy question too - just make stuff up about communication, talk about the qualities in a team leader that will help avoid conflicts such as constant communication, active listening, negotiations (techonology as mentioned in the question can aid negotiations etc)

d) First of all i'm not sure what definition a gateway is in terms of a website but what i can understand of a gateway is that it acts as a translator for data passing between networks using different protocols such as ethernet and token ring. In this instance, a gateway is used within a network to convert protocols so that the data can be read by both networks using different protocols. If this is the right definitio of gateway in your question then you could say:
A gateway within a website enables the sharing of information and data between networks with different protocols over the internet. (something like that and expand on it, talk about the definition of why this would be the case etc)
