I could have asked this before..but i can't remember.

What would be the most effective way of writing study notes with my subjects?

Biology and physics use the syllabus and write out points for each point as they can only test what is in the syllabus.
For math, write out your formulas (flash cards are good or just on a sheet of paper) and then just do prac questions, it isn't a "wrote" learnt subject.
Religion, mind maps with key words work for me.

I dont know much about your other subjects...

Get the syllabus

Look at the dot points

Get a textbook, or a couple of textbooks

Read through the sections relevant to the syllabus dot points

Answer the dot points, and put in enough info on each dot point to answer a 8 mark question (this applies mostly to sciences), obviously not those lame dot points which say identify though.

Done.

For physics & bio make sure you put in your experiments as well.

Use the syllabus to structure your notes.

Use colours, headings, bold key words or things that you have trouble memorising.

For English you may like to type out your essays & then break it down into dot points to help memorise.

Maths most people prefer writing as it can get a bit fiddly but do past papers.

If you're stuck on what to write for a dot point go through other peoples notes or look at a past question.
