So,
im caught in a dilemma.
Pre 2012, the exams were really wordy, and small syallbus points. For example, you'd get questions like:
-Discuss the effectiveness of each suggested set of test data (2011 HSC)
-(i) Identify reasons for changing the code of an existing software solution.
(ii) Explain how different types of documentation could be used to identify
sections of code that need to be modified. (2009)

Now you get questions that just touch on the surface of the smaller points, or are just standard 'large syallbus point' questions, such as:
-Potential adv/disadv of protypting software develpment (CSSA 2013)
-Linear and Binary search adv dis
-Insertion vs selection
-Developers affcted by bla

There quite easy to answer and dont require u to go into detail.
Also, now there are a ton more algorthims.
My question is.
DO i learn the shit on "consideration of local and global variables" or shit on "processing strings"?
All that in depth crap, thats small in the syllabus?

Or do i contuinue practicing algorthims, learning all the larger stuff and hope like hell they dont ask indepth shit?
cheers

Do a bit of both, but make sure you read the tracked copy of the syllabus so you know which dot points have been removed.
