hey guys i received an assessment on optic fibres and i was hopin could anyone out there give me some ideas to model an optic fibre

You could use a straw, but to demonstrate how the light bounces off the sides you'd probably have to do a cross section of something larger.
For a simple model, maybe use a paper towel or toilet roll as your fibre and then glue tooth picks inside in a zig zaggy pattern to show the motion of the light.

get a long tube with a very reflective surface inside (e.g foil) and shine a laser light in it ... tada how simple (simulates total internal reflection)
