Organising Notes (2 Viewers)

i have 1 2 ring binder per subject which has dividers 4 every topic and i bring a small display folder 4 current work 2 skoo.


how do u guys organise ur skoo work and how r u gonna organise it 4 yr 12?

For every subject i have an envelope-like folder. Within the folders are plastic sleeves and in those plastic sleeves are sheets that we get - each plastic sleeve is one topic. I bring the relevant topics to school (in a small 2 ring binder folder) when i have the subject -- That's how my system is suppose to work, whether it works successfully is another story.......the notes i put in exercise books...when i get to year 12 i'm going to make sure my system works

i have a 2 ring binder folder which holds all my subjects (divided of course)... basically thats what i take to school, it has the relevant topic we are studying in each topic only, when we finish that topic i take it out and put it in a manilla folder, which i have for every subject.

I do the same as eling, excpet mine are 3-ring binders. English is the heaviest subject as the folder is already completely full. I have one for miscellaneous things and one for all marked assessment tasks as well. Dividing it with coloured tabs is also a good idea for most subjects.

i dont take notes at school, i just bludge. However i do all the work in the holidays, and some crazy weekend sessions. But now im starting to organise all my stuff.

I have a ring binder that i will take to school, a section for each subject. I do questions from the textbook in exercise books.

i did regular notes in yr11 but i didnt have much of an organisation strategy.

if i could go back to the start of yr11 or even yr12 i would make sure i organise my notes in accordance with the syllabus. not just relating to what we are doing in class.. but making sure i have stuff for every dot point..

an idea that a teacher in yr9 told my class, and which i still do today. i stick a plastic sleeve into the back of my exercise book and put sheets in there. after each topic, i put the sheets into a lever arch folder (which is now quite full) and i keep it at home. for subjects like maths i have a whole folder dedicated to it simply because i have about 1000+ sheets (no exaggeration).

i use a 3 ring binder folder, when it gets full and explodes ( no joke, sheets full out everyone and everyone laughs an im like no fair) then i take them out and put them in manilla folders at home

everyone laughs...?
is that just coz they fall out? or is it coz everybody else's sheets are scrumpled up in their lockers and they feel threatened by ur organisation and need some form of release? ;)

hmm...what did i do...yr 11 i dont think i had a system.
yr 12 i had a system, but i never really used it.

i think what i did, i used lever arch files, one for each subject (lol, english was completely full), and then i also took one lever arch file to school, with dividers for each subject.

i've seen kids walking around with huge folders of books and sheets, but it seems too awkward and a waste of energy. i usually carry a pile of sheets about half a cm to 1 cm high in my book (in a plastic sleeve).

I have a two ring folder that I bring that has the most recent topic inside, everytime I finish a topic, i just stuff it into another two ring folder, = 1 I brink to school, 2 that are currently full.

only problem with bringing folders is the weight in ur bag.....12-13 units = ~6 subjects. that'd be 6 folders. i find my bag fills up pretty quickly just with exercise books and textbooks for each subject.

no.. one folder i bring to school, dump the old topics at home, and just put the recent topic in your 1 folder..
i'm sure that this is possible, because it works for me.

see, all the seniors at our school used the big lever arch files, so it was just kinda the done thing, it was kinda like this unwritten law that once you hit yr 11 you just automatically carried around a big folder with lots of paper (although, honestly, its not that heavy or awkward)

well, whatever works....
for me, it's sheets stuffed into a sleeve at the back of my exercise book.

we were practically told at the end of year 10 that exercise books were unacceptable in senior years... so we have to use folders

totally agree! i carry exercise books around and try to stick as many sheets in as possible as soon as i get them. if i can't, like if they're thick booklets, i put them in a separate thin folder.

Mmm... I find folders scary, and annoying, but then my system (if it can be called that) involves two exercise books, into which Icram every subject, even maths. My maths teacher was heaps annoyed at first, but she got over it. I should start doing work before I start Yr 12, I guess...
