Here's my 'stats', so to speak:
I have only recently looked into University of Melbourne, and I really love the look of it. I would love to do the Bachelor of Commerce in conjunction with the U21 Global Issues Diploma, followed by a 'professional entry' postgrad (possibly JD) or a masters in management. The information is just...overwhelming, so I'd really appreciate some advice from people more knowledgeable than I am.
I'd really, really appreciate help with any of these questions. I feel a bit clueless at the moment!
- 93.95
- Band 6 in Advanced English and Legal Studies, Band E4 in Extension 1 English. Band 5 for General Maths and Italian Beginners, and Band E3 for Extension 2 English.
- Aim to start Uni in 2014
- Eligible for EAS bonus points at all participating Universities except Griffith
- Not eligible for HECS/HELP until September 2014, so essentially 1 year of Uni must be paid for upfront. I am working full-time in my gap year to earn the money.

- The minimum ATAR for Commerce is 93, but the Clearly In Rank is 95.45. What are my chances of getting in with 93.95?
- One of the PreReqs for the Commerce course is 'Mathematics'. Is NSW General Maths enough to meet these requirements? Sorry if this is a dumb question - I moved from the UK and I still don't quite understand all of this terminology.
- If General Maths is NOT enough to meet the requirements, what can I do in 2013 to get up to standards? Is there a course I can take? Can I study by myself and then just take an exam? Money is an issue for me, so doing a class will be a stretch unless it's free.
- I've looked into Access Melbourne, and I'd like to apply for this (as I'm eligible for EAS bonus points). However, as applications for this have closed I'll be doing it next year. Can I still apply for bonus points for medical/injury reasons, even though I am not a current Year 12 student? My injury disrupted my HSC, thus affecting my ATAR, so I'd still be eligible to apply...right?
- If I do not get into the Commerce course, I will be able to get into Arts with hope of transferring. Can I do this after half a year in Arts, or do I have to wait one full year? What average marks would I need at Uni to do the transfer?
- Can anybody tell me how much the U21 Global Issues Diploma costs, approximately?
