hey everyone,
i got accepted into civil engineering at unsw..however, i am beginning to have second thoughts on whether petroleum or mining engineering might be a better profession for me in terms of the occupation demand, salary and profession.
can anyone provide any information on how, in general, the engineering programs are structured at unsw, so that i can see whether transfers are possible. e.g. transfer from civil to petroleum engineering. for example, is it true that all the different streams of engineering at unsw are the same/similar in Year 1? is it true that you decide which stream you want to enter, only after Year 1? If so, wouldn't that mean that I won't have to think about transfers and such, as the first year is common anyway?
any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks
