Phonons in cooper pairs (1 Viewer)

Do we need to know about phonons at all and if we do, do we just need to know that the lattice distortion emits energy particles phonons which connect the free electrons in cooper pairs?

Phonons are to do with quantised vibrational energy in a crystal lattice, they're beyond the syllabus requirements and not needed for exams.

You do need to know that electrons form cooper pairs because of phonons.

really?? Shit, I never remember learning this.
Yeah that's the reason why the so called "cooper pairs" are together. It defies all logic to think that electrons are attached by themselves. They are only attracted to each other because theres positive areas in between known as phonons.

tbh raw mark of 90 in physics will scale to about 95, which is pretty damn beast. Might be state rank since i doubt people get 100 in physics since it has lots of writing.
