i need help coming up with related texts for physical journeys. i need some ideas, what's everyone else doing?

I would advise that you try doing some wide reading. It's generally not a good idea to use the same related materials as others, as markers get bored reading about the same texts. This especially the case within your school...all of the papers from one school are marked together, so if you have the same related materials as 10 of your school friends, it's not going to look good.

My advice: be original, differentiate yourself from the group...that'll get you the marks.

I don't intend to be mean, stingy or tight - it's what teachers at my school and elsewhere have reinforced quite vehemently.

maybe it's good to be "original" and use your own related material, but for me, when ppl ask for help and stuff, i'll try and help out, you can't always be "unique", and especially in the case of school, i would definitely share my related materials with a friend, just sharing with a friend or two won't harm.

It may not do harm for their HSC, but once you get to uni you have to be independent. Independence requires individual research, and if you get too used to "friends' suggestions" you'll find uni difficult.

Not to say you shouldn't help friends out, but there's a point at which assistance actually becomes a disservice.

well we're talking about HSC here and also it depends on what course u do at uni whether you have to be "independent" or not.

No, I'd say that most if not all uni courses require independence of some sort...there's no homeroom/roll call so you don't have to even attend. Doing assignments is not compulsory. And lecturers/tutors don't set homework. Actually, come to think of it, you basically have to do everything yourself...

Note: I'm not a uni student, but I'm sure 99% of uni students would agree with what I've just said.

"independence" generally is needed everywhere in some sort of way of course, but to me, "individual research" depends on which uni course ur doing, what's wrong with making use of some "friends suggestions" during uni? im sure it happens quite often anyway, friends at uni help each other.. well that's what i know of atleast
