Hey guys,

Can anyone please help in this question. I'm not sure as to how to start it off.

It is important to realise that the strength of the electric field produced by two charged parallel plates is constant throughout the region between plates. Hence, the position of the electron in the plates does not matter - it will be subject to the same force regardless of its position.

$$Use the formula $E=\frac{V}{d}$, where $E=$ strength of the electric field, $V=$ voltage, $d=$ distance of separation of the plates in metres, to find the strength of the electric field.$ \\ \\E=\frac{V}{d}=\frac{200}{0.05}=4000$ NC$^{-1} \\ \\$Next, use the formula $F=qE$, to find the force a particle of charge $q$ experiences in an electric field of strength $E$.$ \\\begin{align*}F&=qE \\&=-1.602\times10^{-19}\times4000 \\&=-6.41\times10^{-16}\textup{ N} \\&=6.41\times10^{-16}\textup{ N towards the positive plate.}\end{align*}$
