My prescribed text for belonging is Romulus, My Father. I asked my teacher whether i can use 'Feliks S....' as an other related text, which is also part of the prescribed poems for Immigrant Chronicles. He said its allowed, and so did the head teacher, but on here i've seen people say that it isnt.

So i looked at the course requirements from the board of studies website and it says
"Prescribed texts are:
A range of precribed texts for the AOS where at least one must be selected..."

That to me says its allowed? Or have i totally misinterpreted it?

Hi leesha

my teacher and head of department both strongly recommended to not do it. If you do it not creative and its also a bit frowned upon. Its not "illegal" though. They'll mark it but i dare say you could achieve better marks if you do another "related" text. I had to change mine! Hope that helps

yea we did immigrant chronicles as our prescribed texts and went into so much detail, the markers dont know what ur prescribed text is and so it can look as though u just didnt listen in class. I would say if you have other relateds, do them. good luck tomorrow!
