But like, I reckon your school isn't marking to HSC standards so you're probs looking at 86-89 which isn't a bad mark for chem.

Yes... but if you're good enough to be getting 90+ you should just be getting 80%+ at an easy-marking school.

can someone get a band 6 with an internal mark of 75 but external hsc exam of 90+?

Like for e.g. say you have a crappy rank right now for e.g. 20/30 and the highest possible rank you can push yourself to by the end is like 9th or something but you do well in the hsc exam itself...that kind of scenario

I got 91 in the exam and 83 assessment, and that gave me a HSC mark of 87.
