Hello. On the back off the letter I received from bos regarding hsc results, the part which has your subjects and the unit value, for extension one maths it says 2 units, when it should be 1. Should I be concerned, or is this just a careless typo on their part?
:/

Um, correct me if I'm wrong....but I don't think it's what they are talking about...
It's the units of subject they are talking about...

mathematics will be counted as 2 units
mathematics ext.1 will be counted as 1 unit

UNLESS....
if u r doing mathematics ext.2

mathematics ext.1 will be counted as 2 units
mathematics ext.2 will be counted as 2 units
(u practically will not get any result for the mathematics course because u didn't sit for the exam and as well for the course)...

That's what I know...

No, there has been an error from BOS...

what VQ and tez0r have said is correct about 3 unit counting as 2 units if u do 4 unit maths!

however, I dont do 4 unit maths, I do 3 unit maths and 2 unit maths and it appears that they have made a typing error for mathematic extension 1

but its nothing to worry about, just make sure on students online that the mathematics extension course appears as 1 unit, if not then contact ur principle immediately!...

although i wouldnt mind them counting extension maths as 2 units ..hehe, its an awesome scalar, better than only having 1 unit counted!

nah, 2 unit maths is not counted!... and ur not given 100 for 2 unit either (well obviously, since its not counted..hehe)

although u are required to complete the 2 unit course (which most 4u students complete pritty eraly in the year), but seeing as u dont sit for the exam, No ur not given 100...

don worry guys, it was just a small error, nothing to worry about!

@ ebonylea... Im not quite sure why it has n/a.. although i remember when i went to the board of studies website, they had a screen shot of an example layout of the HSC exam results , and SDD had n/a under the assessment mark...

soooooooooo, not sure!

bos is also quite succeptable to printing errors
like it said
mathematics (2unit)
mathematics ext 1 (2 unit) on mine
but when i checked it on the site it was
mathematics (2 unit)
mathematics ext 1 (1 unit) so all good :)

yeah mathematics ext 2 comprises of these two courses
mathematics ext 1 (2 units)
mathematics ext 2 (2 units)
