My proposal is due at the end of this term and I've got a problem in deciding what topic to do.

So far, the topics i'm thinking of are:
- The Holy Grail = the various views of the nature of the holy grail
- The Crusades = why the crusaders killed when they were trying to spread Christianity
- Catherine the Great
- The Vikings
- The Spartans
- Nostradamus

It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me or if you could suggest some medieval/ancient history topics.

Like most topics, it depends on what you want to do with it. I like Catherine the Great as there is lots of scope for assessment and interpretation.

You could also look at Eleanor of Aquitaine (wife of Henry II and one of the most powerful/influential women in the middle ages).

The best major works I've read involve something of an historical debate, rather than a biography.
