@Newbie, here's a few games I have - the ones I enjoy playing, or have enjoyed watching others play. :shy:

Racing, driving, car games
Auto Modellista (old-school, arcade style, cartoony)
Colin Mcrae Rally 3 (rallying, off road)
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (the 'real driving simulator', on and off road)
Gran Turismo 4: Prologue
Initial D: Special Stage (arcade style, cartoony)

Role-playing games (RPGs), action/adventure

Final Fantasy X (realistic and is a little bit cartoony)
Final Fantasy X-2
Kingdom Hearts (cartoony, disney/kiddie)

Fighting and combat games, beat 'em ups

Capcom VS SNK 2 (cartoony)
Dynasty Warriors 3 - Xtreme Legends (realistic)
Marvel VS Capcom 2 (cartoony)
Soul Calibur 2 (realistic)
Street Fighter EX 3 (half realistic, half cartoony)
Tekken 4 (realistic)
Virtua Fighter 4 (realistic)

Gun-games, shooters

Time Crisis 3 (arcade style, storyline)
Vampire Night (arcade style, dark/gloomy shooter with vamps)

I don't play NFS:U on PS2, but rather on the PC. My friend has it on Xbox and PS2, so I might see how it plays on the PS2 (connecting to EA servers online, through the PS2 Network Adapter). I've played a few times on EA Servers but I don't really like Underground. I thought Hot Pursuit 2 was definately one the better NFS titles. :)

like P_M said moh: rising sun adn socom are two great games on ps2 esp if ur looking to play online games.

also metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty is a greeat game to buy, as well as mortal kombat: deadly alliance, hitman 2

ive also been recomended .hack volume 1, unlimited saga, true crimes streets of la, max payne 2, XIII (thirteen), and midnight club 2. but there is a ton of good games on ps2, depends on ur tastes and what u like. dont just take our words for it

Xenosaga - No. It has been announced, but only for the European release, nothing about the Australian release AFAIK.

Other upcoming titles: Final Fantasy XI, Zone of the Enders 2.

I forgot to mention the Metal Gear Solid series, Sons of Liberty and Substance for the PS2, if you're into action/adventure types (stealth/military game) :)

If you enjoy an arcade style, fast-paced racing game, then yes. Some don't like the graphics, but I like them.

It's not very "smooth" but rather looks hand-drawn and much like the vector drawings you see on the Internet. Whenever you brake or drift around the corners, you'll see your vehicle/car seemingly "speed up" because of the wind - it looks cool (in my opinion).

I'm not sure what kind of racer/driver you are, or the racing games you like to play, but don't expect a Gran Turismo.

Check the screenshots/reviews

You can find more reviews (and pictures) on the Internet though, Huss. I would recommend it, since it's "my kind of game" - but others don't like it, it depends on you I guess. :)

Yes, like Daytona, but more "child-like" (what I like to call: 'cartoony' even Disney).

It's a good game, and $40 is worth it! Considering I spent about $100 on it (I didn't pre-order this game, but got it when it came out on PS2, I have a friend who works at EB). :)

The US release (NTSC) of FFX-2 has already been out, it's more of a "moulin rouge meets final fantasy" game.

There's too much singing and dancing! :p

It's entertaining though, compared to FFX.

Ren, yes.

I am staring at it in the face.

Way to ruin it for people, about Yuna. (though I already knew, so I didn't care if you told people or not).

I recognised your avatar, but thanks for reminding me - I can be a little slow.

The english one came out on:

*give me a sec*

the 18th of November, last month - ONE MONTH AGO. :)
