our teacher keeps emphasising about different interpretations ('alternate reading'). So does that mean including various interpretations of texts would enrich our essays and responses????

or are we supposed to stick to one point (the thesis we build)???

It may. Only if it's relevant to the concept of the journey. I can't ever see how it would be, though. There's an entire module dedicated to different interpretations of texts, (and area of study is not it) so I'm not exactly sure what your teacher is raving about.

You're supposed to build an argument (or thesis) around something to do with the concept of the journey and tie all your texts to it. If the different readings of your texts add new insight into the journey, then add it. Again, I have no idea how they would and why you'd want to include it in an essay.

e.g. for school assessments (not the actual hsc), but u know the assessment tasks re: analysis of texts relating to the area of study. E.g. for the ivory trail there are many interpretations and aspects of imaginative journeys.
