Ok so I was just wondering how final HSC marks are allocated. I'm going to include an example and can someone tell me if I'm correct?

For example, let's say my rank for Business Studies was 2/80.

If I get a raw mark of 92 in my Business exam and the person who got the 2nd highest HSC mark in my school got 96. Will my actual HSC mark be 94? Since the actual HSC mark is the average of my internal and external mark?

Not necessarily raw mark. You never see your raw mark only your internal scaled and external scaled and yes you would be correct.

It's generally true for most cases where the internal & the external mark spreads are similar.

Would not be true in odd cases like, say the internal 1-2-3 marks are 97-92(you)-91 and the external marks are 97-96-92(you). Your rank #2's internal is so far below #1 you won't get the 96 external. You'd only get around 93 and your HSC mark = (93+92)/2 = 92.5
