Let's just say that I decided to learn 4 unit polynomials with my tutor. Do I need to know the three unit course before I begin to learn, or can I learn without it. I forgot to ask my tutor that question.
Note: I know that the 4 unit polynomial course will not cover the entire three unit course.

4U just takes 3U polynomials further. You can do 4U polynomial without having done the 3U bit but it just means that part will now have to be covered.

Yes, but your tutor will have to teach you all the prerequisite polynomial skills which'll cover 3u polynomials :)

tbh, there is hardly any actual work needed in polynomials. You end up just learning a few things and the rest flows on normally
