They can approximate your ATAR by looking at scaling and stuff from prior years, so it should give a general indication, by no means an exact representation of what you will get.

They're only accurate once you get your final hsc marks back from the board, so no point putting in your raw school marks, plus they're not 100% accurate as stated by astroe.

They're only an indication throughout all your assessments.
How do you know you won't stuff up your HSC unluckily?

That's like saying that you know how to do something one day and be adamant that you can replicate it the next.

but aren't the raw marks and the external marks very similar?
raw marks as in what?
they're nto that similar.
my raw mark percentage for last years 2unit was like 80%, and my external HSC mark was in the 90's.
