hey everyone

im hav just started my HSC this term and have a few questions about ranks and raw marks. i was curious as what ranks and/or raw marks wud be needed for me to achieve my goal of an ATAR of 80. i do the following subjects

English Std ?/80
Maths Gen ?/75
Mod Hist ?/35
Bus Stud ?/40
PDHPE ?/45
SOR 1 ?/100

basically, when it comes down to it, u just wanna do as well as u can. so it you come 5th in say SOR, dnt think thats all good cos ur 5th, if u can do better, then do better basically. it depends on your cohort really, if every1 is good then rank isnt such a big deal, but seeing as ur cohorts are medium-large ur gonna get slack kids who dont giv a crap bout their hsc

for english and maths definately try and be top 10 because standard and general wont do u any favours if u rnt near the top. so even top 5 would b fantastic! pdh, basically learn how 2 structure a good essay (english helps loads here) and ur all set, but top 5 would b gr8... but u could get away with 10-15. top 7 or 8 for modern and sor maybe top 15.

ranks wont determine or play a hugely significant role in ur hsc, as long as u do well enough, they cant take that away from u. so i wouldnt aim necessarily for a rank, but rather aim for marks that u no u can achieve. its easier to judge ur progress, and as u improve, hopefully thatll translate into moving up the ranks, but dont stress, jst do as well as u possibly can.

if u dnt wanna stress bout ur hsc, try an aim for band 5's so 80+ in ur assessments. itll make everything a bit easier
