These are from the current iteration of the HSC Cambridge math books I believe; they are great questions.

Try thinking of the vertical cross sections of both shapes (this kind of thinking will work for both 14 and 15).

You may then be able to use basic trigonometry or Pythagoras theorem to construct the functions needed.
