If i were to apply for a course where the UAI cut off is 70, would it generally be likly that i would get an early offer if my UAI was 68 (remeber that i get 5 extra points if i liv in west syd).

Yes most likely, unless the cutoff increases dramatically this year.

Hi Guys,

I am a current UWS Student and also work in the Course Information Centre giving out course advice to students. The early offer scheme and the bonus point systems can be a bit confusing. Some basic guidelines are as follows:

All eligible bonus points are added automatically, no separate application is required.

Regional Bonus - If you currently live or study in the Greater Western Sydney region, you will receive an automatic 5 point bonus when you apply for a UWS course via the Universities Admission Centre. Check out full criteria here http://future.uws.edu.au/triple_advantage

Subject Bonus - Points may also be awarded on the basis of outstanding performance in a nominated range of HSC or IB subjects. To be eligible, you must meet the above criteria and achieve band 5 or 6 results in HSC or IB subjects relevant to the UWS course you have applied for. List of subjects here: http://future.uws.edu.au/triple_advantage/subject-bonus

Early Offer Scheme - The early offer schemes are based on your UAI meeting the previous year's cut off (eg: 2008 published cut offs). This means that you are not competing with the entire pool of applicants in 2009 when the UAI cut off may go up! Full criteria here: http://future.uws.edu.au/triple_advantage

MOST IMPORTANTLY - Maximum bonus points that any applicant can receive is 10 points. This includes Regional Bonus, Subject Bonus and Educational Access Scheme (EAS) points.

I hope this helps. If you still have questions please call 1800 897 669 and we can help you out, or come to the Course Decision Day event today at Parramatta Campus 4-8pm.
