Iv had previous work experience but never got a refrence from the manager, is it ok if i write it down but just not write down on the resume reference details for them.

I'm sure it'd be ok, but you might have to explain why you don't have a reference or something.

I was in the same position as you but make sure you get in contact with the person because it's nice to do so and you can let them know what job you are applying for so they know at least half the story when your future manager rings him/her.
