Prescribed text is Emily Dickenson Poem 181

Related text i can use?

at the moment im just thinking about Maroon 5 - She will be lvoed and Remember the titans as myvisual text but one of the parts will be asking to relate it to the poem 181 which is more of a dark theme?

please give your opinion on related texts? and my choices?

just curious
Songs are repetitive, cyclical, a crappy form of poetry, basically not sophisticated.

Yes of course there are deep and beautiful songs,

But unless you can analyse how the specific tone colours and cadences and other music features affect the audience.... Don't.

Just don't.

Songs are bad, UNLESS you can analyse the compositional aspect of the song (ie, staccato, crescendo, rhythm etc), as well as the lyrical aspects. If you only analyse the lyrical aspects, it's like losing half the related text. You wouldn't analyse half a Skrzynecki poem, or only read half of As You Like It, so why analyse only half a related text?
