Related Texts for Immigrant Chronicle (1 Viewer)

Ok..so I'm a bit unsure of my related texts at the moment..because I don't want one that is too common
My ideas so far is the snow falling on cedars by david gutterson, breath by tim winton
What is everyone else doing?? Does anyone have any suggestions??

You are not allowed to do Snow Falling on Cedars - because it is a core text for Module C's Conflicting Perspectives.

I suggest a film such as Kite Runner, or a novel like Things Fall Apart - both of which are quite easy to read/watch and analyse.

Things Fall Apart - noone has suggested it except me on BoS. And in school, I was the only one out of 210 kids at Sydney Boys who did Things Fall Apart.
Kite Runner - maybe two people have suggested it at BoS. One person out of 210 at SBHS did Kite Runner.

So no, I'd say that they're not commonly used texts. They're 'easy' texts, but they do delve into a more sophisticated interpretation of belonging - making them great texts for students to attack, and strengthen a line of argument in their essays.
