no movie has ever made me phsyically ill
not before i saw this tonight

when it ended all five of us stood up and walked away without saying anything.
i cant describe this movie.
the montage of the breakdown that culminated in the amputation hurt me to watch

no movie, in my opinion, has ever evoked so much emotion.... each story line was just so.... aaah hard to explain with this movie. but the amputation of the arm, the lady (i forget her name) dancing around in front of the tv and then in the hospital, the guy in jail.... just so.... like i got shivers up my spine.... it makes you really FEEL for them. his amputated arm just made me cry. i felt sick to the stomach.... but definitely one of the best movies i've seen

Pretty intense, I agree.

Mind you, there are far more "emotional" films out there. This one will shock you up a bit, but it shouldn't level you to tears.

ah it was ok, but nothing special

i always prefer trainspotting though for the scottish accents ;)
I don't know how you can compare them. They both have to do with drugs, but aren't really alike at all.

Trainspotting is far more entertaining, but I'd argue Requiem is a better film.

Traffic?

I'm not sure how you'd compare it to Requiem...

they have similar elements

in traffic the daughter becomes a junkie and goes through the same fall from grace as the junkies on requiem who lose thier love for each other as opposed to the wealth and social stnading the girl in traffic comes from

in the end all movies about drug use and its downfalls are nearly the same

trainspotting generates far more sympathy for its characters and is a completely superior film, imo.

requiem's quite misanthropic when you think of it, but it's an incredible 'physical' experience. i bet it'll be looked back on as this generation's reefer madness in future, though.

Oh, Blow sucks. Johnny Depp's acting brilliance can't even hold it. It's a pathetic film trying so hard to be Goodfellas it's not funny.
