If there exists such a thread, please direct me to it and I shall take this one down :)

I feel compelled to give up some things because of my poor time management/organisational skills and almost professional procrastination. How do you guys manage to balance everything so well? It baffles me!

1. No more Puerto Rican reggaeton. 3 minutes can lead to 3 weeks of nothingness.
2. No caffiene (unless craming). TREAT INSOMNIA, DON'T ADD TO IT. Oh, speaking of insomnia, I've been experimenting. And I found something unbelievable: sleeping with clothes on improves your quality of sleep at least 10 fold and you fall asleep a lot faster. It may have something to do with increasing body temperature and making you drowsy, but meh. Apparently the ideal temp for teen bodies to get to sleep is around 18-20 degrees (this is around 25 degrees for adults!). So basically, keep warm even if it's hot. I don't know if chamomile tea actually works because it also contains caffiene so I think its properties would just cancel each other out? Shrugs.
3. Drastically decrease internet usage. Limit to 3-4 hours a week, max. We'll see how we go with this one lol.

So, what are you sacrificing and why?

Yeah i agree with the internet usage one. MSN + crap are so distracting.

Thats pretty much it. I don't often socialise with anyone from my school during the weekends, i don't even add them to MSN. (not that theres anyone to socialise with!) and most of my friends have moved away to bigger places. I don't drink, so i don't see the point in going to parties etc unless they're my friends. I don't watch tv except for Desperate Housewives (right now anyway). I have such an exciting life.

Oh maybe and decrease time spent shopping.

I haven't had MSN for 8 months.... completely uninstalled off my computer (even Windows Messenger) :)

It was too distracting and uninstalling it showed my parents that I was comitted to my school work etc etc.

But now it seems that BoS is my new MSN :(
Damn you BoS! lol

TV shows, though many of the ones i liked are gone

and reading books i like over school texts- I've read cloudstreet 3 times, and i still hate it

I sacrafice sleep. Yes, I know, that is stupid yes, but I just don't seem to have enough time to do everything I must before 10.30. I have cut back on the msning to about fifteen minutes half an hour a day, which is just to catch up with friends who no longer go to school etc. I have also given up TV, most days I don't watch TV when I get home, unless it is the first fifteen minutes of the news. So, I don't have much of a life outside of school you could conclude. BOS has instead replaced these study vices lol.

aha so true. I hate it when you sacrifice heaps, put in work and are still behind / stay up late.

lol its gonna sound lame, but i was addicted (to the MAX) to myspace, so i gave it up for lent! i actually managed to hold out on it for the entire time, but last night i spent a couple of hours on there just catching up for lost time...
i don't know if it has helped my addiction yet, but we shall see!
other than that, i haven't really given up much.
i should give up MSN like you guyses did, but i'm not sure if i'd have the willpower!
is it really that hard? like, am i going to die? lol
