Out of curiosity, say person A 2/100 in a particular course with raw 90. And person B comes 1st with raw 95. Now I know that B will definately get the top external mark as their internal. Then is their any point of the large gap between 1st and 2nd position? Or would the school drag student B's mark down to 91 so as to tighten the cohort? Since B doesn's care what he gets, as long as he's 1st with 90+.

The school can't change the relative difference between marks.

They may change the raw marks from the assessment tasks so long as the ranks and relative gaps are maintained.

If a student is 20 marks better or worse than the rest of the cohort that difference has to be reported.

The moderation process keeps that relative difference for the internals so as to be fair to the work presented by the cohort during the year.
