Second Year Civil Subs, Advice? (1 Viewer)

Hey so I'll be doing CVEN2201: Soil Mechanics and CVEN2702 (which is exactly the same as CVEN2002: Engineering Computations). I was wondering if anyone could give me a subject review or some advice about these subjects and what to expect? I've heard some pretty bad things about soils, not sure if they're grossly exaggerated though (70% fail rate?!).

I'm doing Soils next sem, but a lot of my m8s who did it last year said that the only reason that Soils was hard because the lecturer was a dick in that he set hard exams, gave no resources and refused to answer any questions after lectures. But I hear we have a new lecturer next sem so hopefully it will be a lot better.

I did CVEN2002 last year was pretty boring, stats part was alright but was boring. Numerics part was pretty hard did not learn anything at all during the sem, only way I got through it was watching how to do problems on youtube before the final exam.
