In a pyramid in Egypt, the triangular sides are formed by rows of stone blocks. Each row has one less block than the row beneath it. If the bottom row of one side has 300 blocks in it, how many blocks were needed to form the side? If every corner block is shared by two sides, how many blocks were used to build the sides of the pyramid

Please help with the second part of the question, the answer is 179400 but I’m not sure how to get there:)

So you find the number of blocks on one side:

S = 300/2 (1+300)
= 180600

Then each corner block is shared by two sides so there are 300 corner blocks (as a side is 300 blocks tall) so you times that by 4 and minus it to get 179400 to remove the shared blocks

Legend! Thank you so much
