Shorten Essay from 1.5k to 1k (1 Viewer)

Hello BOS'ers.

I have an in-class essay on Belonging which I have 50 minutes to write. With a few minutes of thinking time, I can write around 1000-1200 words. The problem is, my prepared essay is 1500 words, yet everything in the essay seems necessary.

Can anyone assist me in shortening down my essay?

Cut out everything least relevant to belonging and try to include 'clusters' of language techniques.

Get to the point of your essay. It sounds like you've got a fair bit of pre-discussion so lighten up on that. Since it's a "prepared" essay, some points may not even be relevant to the question so you should probably know the major points there but when it comes to the assessment, pick and choose which ever give the best response.
