Hey so my ambition is to get into medicine sometime in the future and y the degree i'm aiming for next year is med science.

Anyways, I've been browsing and reading up on all these threads lately and I was thinking of sitting the UMAT, because if I preserver I might have a chance of getting an interview for med? What's the lowest ATAR coupled with a fantastic UMAT needed for an interview?

if its any help, my ranks in subjects are all in the top 2-5 except for maths ext and chemistry (I can see the looks on your faces) so i think a realistic atar for me is low to mid 90's. actually, i'm not even sure.

Any suggestions guys?

Will sitting UMAT help me in the future if I try and get into grad med or (if) i get into med science and transfer or whatever.

Well the only place you could get into med with a ATAR of low/mid 90's is UNSW with rural entry and sadly Sylvania isn't rural. You can't get an interview for next year now but if you're happy to wait and just see how your ATAR comes back it might be worth sitting the UMAT next year for 2011 entry. Depends what you'd prefer, undergrad or graduate entry med
