Should I do the UMAT preparation courses? (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if I should attend UMAT preparation courses (e.g. MedEntry) and if it is worthwhile. Reason I am asking now is because I have never considered applying for UMAT as my previous aim to get into a course in the medical field didn't require it. I realised that I should keep my options open and decided to apply for Med at UNSW (which requires high atar, umat, interview).

Do you think it is worthwhile to attend these UMAT courses? Personally, I believe that it is a waste of money and it is a hassle as it takes away my study time but at the same time, I feel like I need it to get exposure to the layout and questions.

Is there anyway to self-study for UMAT? What is the disadvantage of self-studying for UMAT?

To be honest, it's not really worth preparing for UMAT - after all, you need 96+ ATAR, a hard ATAR to achieve to even have the slightest chance.
