I just find it stupid to wave the UK flag while "celebrating" Australia day, because it implies that we should care about our heritage (which I disagree with) and this is also the ideology of the Aboriginals protesting against Australia day.

they're an ethnonationalist group, and australia was created by people from the british isles who remain the predominant majority population in the country to this day - so waving the uk flag makes perfect sense for a group like this

am i also the only person who basically doesn't know their heritage

like i know the general region but not mcuh else really, i get why some people are invested in it due to culture and all that but like that doesn't mean u can kick people from other heritages out of ur country (which btw, australia is pretty much built on immigration especially from people who aren't white, without it this country probably would have failed so i cant understand why people want to just make the country white or whatever, yuck)
