Sound editing freeware (1 Viewer)

What's the best sound editing freeware available? - preferably something able to reduce background noise/vocals in an mp3 track.

I'm using Audacity atm, just wondering if there's anything better out there.

Oh, you can reduce noise using sony vegas? I've reduced the overall volume, mixed tracks and such but never tried that...
I shall soon though.
