Explain the changes in momentum when a satellite fires its propulsion system (3 marks)

This is from the 2008 HSC. When answering this question do I refer to the law of conservation of momentum and how in a closed system interaction, the momentum is always unchanged. So when the propulsion is fired, the momentum from the gases from propulsion generate momentum downwards. However, due to law of conservation of momentum there must be a momentum equal in magnitude in the opposite direction. thus there is no overall change in momentum?

that's the general outline of my answer. Is it on the right track?

Any help will be appreciated
thanks!
