where do u guys study? do u have a desk in your room or a home office? or do u just study on the floor?

this year ive scored the office (coz mum just finished her degree so no one uses it) so ive just gotten rid of my desk. i think this will be good for this year so i can escape from HSC when i sleep and not have all that study energy right next to me. i need somewhere to chill :)

Comeon people start posting ...

well for myself i was able to take the "den", rumpus or wateva you wanna call it. Its much better than having to study were there are distractions .. like my stereo ( cant help listenin to nova969 or cds :D ).

Make sure where you study has adequete conditions, like proper lighting, comfortable chair, and a large workspace. Also try and keep away from excessive noise. :apig:

We have a spare bedroom that was made into a study. That however, doesn't stop piles of books and folders to build up around the corners of my bedroom or any other room in the house. :p My parents always say that if visitors came they would get the false impression that I was very studious.

But anyway, it's nice having a study to yourself. :) Air-con just got put in, so now I've just got to fix the crappy lighting and it's my perfect little hideout for the year. For some reason, when I'm in the study parents seem to think I must be 'studying' when I'm actually lying on the floor reading old mags. :D

I got a desk in my room with shelves full of encyclopaedia's that I very rarely use (use the Internet for info.). I never really use the desk for STUDYING ..... I sometimes do homework on it, but other times I usually use the dining table. It's bigger, and I feel like I need some noise so that it doesn't feel so much like school work, but just a general activity. When STUDYING, like for an exam or something I usually use the floor or my bed to spread out everything.

Just wondering .... does anyone else have the problem of stuff all over their bedroom floor ??? I have every single subject i do in piles all over my floor. Everyone thinks it's unorganised, but I like having everything in front of me so I don't have to search for it, it's just there. Anyone have any comments on this method ? pros and cons ?

Everything I need is in my room, especially my computer. Old textbooks are in the closet, new ones along with excercise books can be found neatly arranged on the floor in an random manner :D When it comes to actually studying however, I tend to read my typed notes off my computer screen and also have a printed copy nearby so I can walk around the house reading. For some reason, walking seems to help me memorise things faster/easier. I need to be alone though because whenever I'm at the library "studying" with friends, I always end up mucking around and doing nothing.

I do my study in my room, although it probably isn't such a good idea - so many distractions. The problem is, it probably is the quietest place as well :(

I find that i can concentrate best when i am doing something on the computer (notes, research assignment, essay etc) which is not in my room.

Heheh, I have stuff in piles all around the perimeter of my bedroom... and the dining room... and the lounge... and stuff is creeping in the bathroom as well :p (we rarely use the bathtub, and it's strangely comfortable to sit in ;)). It's actually quite well sort out, every start of a term I organise every scraplet of work into neat files but as the school term goes on, I have to study so I carry the whole pile for a particular subject to a more comfortable place to study. :p Thus, the piles of stuff around the house explained. It's still very organised mess though - I know exactly what chapter of what subject is in what room in what pile. ;)

desk in my room, heaps of notes all over my wall.. thats where i do my "study" my comp is in the lounge room so the only distraction is the TV and radio.. but i dont turn on the TV because theres no optus on there and i occasionally listen to the radio when i "study" its a pretty kewl set up -- i have an actual study and office but i like it better in my room, a lil more personal and homely.

I have a desk in my room - my extremely tiny room.

Its a small desk with barely any room - l have to take everything off it just to read a book.

I mostly like to study in the dining room, with my parents whizzing around me. Weird l know, but l talk to them about what l'm studying and l try and explain it to them - which helps me to write extended responses to questions.
