Hey can anyone summarise the situation with the Tamils/Sri Lankan asylum seekers in a few sentences please? I know the general situation, but can't express it in a few, neat but all-encompassing sentences.

i m sick and just woke up, so i m sorry if it doesn't make sense but here is an attempt
"In may 2009 the civil was between the Tamil minority against the sinelse majority ended. This was ended by the Sri Lankan military controlling all parts of the country held by the LTTE. As the war has ended, the Sri lankan military has launched a crack down making sure the LTTE is not bought back to life. People of Tamil ethnicity are targeted and held without charge and are also tortured. This has seen alot of tamil's trying to leave sri lanka to the safer countries of Australia, Europe and North Africa"
