umm i just wanted to know..

when you finish your teaching degree,,say BA and Dip Ed.. and you are eligable for employment into the DET.. do you choose whether you teach at private, catholic or publc schools??

and is it necessary to do any other post grad courses or units in your undergraduate degree to teach at private and catholic schools??

To teach in a private school you apply directly to the school.

Private schools advertise their vacancies in the paper and on websites such as Seek.

Each private school interviews and chooses their own staff unlike public school where teachers are appointed to a school.

So if you apply to teach in a public school, you don't really have a choice of which public school you'll be teaching at?
