I have one. Is there any point taking it to Sydney with me, or is everything (required) to be done by CAD now?

most likely not needed. i have one too and i've never used it.
unless you're doing architecture, you might need it.

what degree you doing?

Flexible. I'm leaning towards going through with Mechanical, Mechatronic or Aerospace at the moment though.

Defiantly not needed. All drawings are CAd these days, most doen using AutoCad.

they never made explicit references to a tech drawing board.
hand drawings are pretty rare
all drawings and design are now done in AutoCAD (Civil) or CATIA (Mechanical)
