Textbooks waste of time? Lecture notes will suffice? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys!,
I'm not sure but I was told by a friend that in Commerce all you really need is to read the notes that the lectures give and was advised not to pick up the textbook for certain subjects Is this true??Are the textbooks a waste of time? I mean, I was planning on making notes from the textbook and stuff ~ So now, i'm like hm... lol Thanks!

For certain subjects yes, but too bad you don't know which until halfway through the course

If you are aiming to get DN's and HD's you definitely need a textbook. You could borrow the book from the library for the first few weeks to determine if you need it...

I thought you just buy the textbooks?
