Yep, the remake of the 1970's classic horror film by Wes Craven has been remade, and will be released in Australia in April. If you want to see true horror/terror, you should definitely check out this film. While it was in production, the director (Alexandre Aja) and his team invited the MPAA to rate the film as it currently stood. The MPAA rated te film as an NC-17 rating (a banned rating, in America). So the film crew edited the film enough to reduce the rating down to R18+.

The Hills Have Eyes (2006) is currently having special screenings in North America, and contrary to modern horror films, the audiences have liked it so far. Don't be so pessimistic of this film, as the director made a film called Haute Tension (AKA High Tension) and it won awards, and became quite notorious for its horror impact. So, the remake of The Hills Have Eyes looks to pack a serious punch - the rating description of the film in accordance with its R18+ rating is "Strong Gruesome Violence and Terror Throughout, and for Language".

Since most of you are in Australia, and if you are curious of the film and want a peek, check out the trailer - http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox_searchlight/thehillshaveeyes/

Without a doubt, this film will be MUCH better than the laughable, sub-standard horror film (and as an actual film) "Hostel". :)
