I am desperate. How does this poem relate to imaginative journeys?

The Narrators descent into madness is an imaginative journey as well as his progression through several stages of grief. That is how i interpreted it when comparing it with "This Lime Tree Bower my Prison" in a speech. My teacher seemed to like it but don't take my word as gospel, this is just how i interpreted and expressed it.
