oh wth! a lot of our staff worked on that, oh well, it's a crap dictionary anyway, i could never find the words i wanted in it.

they should really split the ling and psych divisions altogether, the 2 areas are so diverse. then again, it's probably the same for some of the other divisions like SCMP

SCMP isn't too bad, they all have the same general focus, just different writing styles

It's still the official dictionary of the Australian legal system.:eek:

And I think it stinks. I doubt that the cost of allowing the dictionary people to sit on-campus was more than the overall substance that it gave to the uni.

The Macquarie dictionary was made as an attempt to provide some justice for the Australian language. If you noticed, most of the words are of Australian spelling (eg, labour > labor) and covers a wide range of Australian slang words. I quite like the dictionary, but then I'm a linguistics student :p
