Hey everyone,
I know what i am going to ask of u is a big ask but any help will be appreciated.

"Process and analyse information to develop a timeline that identifies key events in the formation of Australia as a island continent from its origins as part of Gondwana."

Any information will be of great assistance. I also need this in a fair amount of detail. Thnx again for ur help in advance

Hey. This is the timeline that i compiled from a couple of sources. But, unfortunately, the dates were not always the same for all sources. But, it's accurate enough, especially since it deals in Millions of years.

sorry if you need references, but i can't remember where i got the info from.

280 Ma - The supercontinent Pangaea is a single landmass.
250 Ma - Australia part of Pangaea; major black coal deposits formed
Ice sheets over SE Aust; high rainfall at end of period.
240 Ma - Australia part of southern portion of Pangaea, but rifting started.
Warm and dry.
180 Ma - Pangaea breaks up into several land masses. The largest is Gondwana, made up Antarctica, Australia, South America, Africa, and India. North America and Eurasia are still joined, forming Laurasia.
Warm to hot and wet.
160 Ma - Break up of Gondwana.
Warm and wet
160 Ma - Africa separates from Gondwana.
130 Ma - India separates from Gondwana
80 Ma- NZ begins separation from Aust.
65 Ma- Extinction of dinosaurs.
60 Ma - Rapid cooling, rising sea levels at 1st; later Warm and wet; retreating sea levels.
50 Ma - Australia separated from Gondwana
Warm and wet; rainfall becoming more seasonal.
40 Ma - Aust landmass and New Guinea separate from Antarctica.
India collides with Asia, causing the rise of Himalaya and the Tibetan plateau.
38 Ma - Distinctive Megafauna evolve.
Climate cooler overall, rainfall more seasonal; further drying out
23 Ma - Initially warm and wet, but increasing aridity, and reduced and seasonal rainfall by end of period; global cooling.
20 Ma - Collision of Aust plate w/ Asian plate, allowing placentals to island-hop.
15 Ma - Invasion of placental mammals.
5 Ma - Warming, partial melting of icecaps and rising sea levels; then changing to dryer cooler climate; present level of aridity established in Aust.
2 Ma - Alternating cool dry climate w/ warm wet climate as icecaps spread out and then contract.
40 Ka - Megafauna die out.
10 Ka - Continued drying out.
