Would blocking off an entire day in timetable preferences work?

Depends on the lecture times for your units. Probably not. But there's no harm in trying

I check all my possible lecture/tutorial/practical times and then block off the day which has no lectures and other days for tutorials/practicals. It's always worth a try! It makes it easier for me to work, if it all figures out.
